Almost 100 km on what, in southern Etruria, was the Roman road of communication between Radicofani, Acquapendente, Bolsena, Viterbo: that’s Via Cassia, a modern state road. Centuries later, during the Middle Ages, the same route became the final part of “pilgrims’ journey”, the Via Romea or Francigena that connected Canterbury to Rome. The stories of peoples who have come and gone in this marvelous land between Tuscany and Lazio will be retraced, with stops in quiet villages, silent convents and cheerful inns. A journey of beauty and joy.
