1st day: place of departure - Bari - Castel del Monte - Matera
Departure by train with reserved seats frecciabianca train for Bari. Lunch. Arrival in the early afternoon and departure for Castel del Monte, visit of the castle and continuation to Matera. Hotel accommodation: dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day: Termoli – Castel del Monte – Matera
Departure for Castel del Monte, in the heart of National Park of Murgia, where you can visit Frederick's castle with its characteristic octagonal plan. Lunch. Continuation for the visit of Matera, declared World Heritage by UNESCO for the uniqueness of "Sassi". Ancient districts whose houses have been excavated in the limestone, with suggestive cellars and oil mills. Hotel accommodation: dinner and overnight stay.
3rd day: Matera – Lecce
Breakfast. Departure for Lecce. Hotel accomodation and lunch. Afternoon city tour; Lecce is the chief town of Salento, one of the most important italian baroque cities for Santa Croce Basilica, the cloister of the Celestine convent, the cathedral with the adjacent Bishop's palace and the Seminary, "Madonna degli Angeli" and finally the Roman theater and amphitheater. Dinner and overnight stay.
4th day: tour in the heart of Salento: Gallipoli - Santa Maria di Leuca - Otranto
Half Board in hotel. Departure for the small peninsula where gallipoli rises, the "beautiful city" of Greeks embellished by the Hellenistic fountain overlooking the harbor, the Castle and the baroque cathedral of Sant'Agata. At the end visit of the Hypogeum Oil Mill of Palazzo Granafei, a suggestive structure entirely dug by hand in the local stone: 200 square meters of underground where the original equipment used for the production of lamp oil in the mill of 1600 are still present. Lunch. leaving Gallipoli for the coast road go down towards the southern tip of Salento up to Santa Maria di Leuca with its sanctuary. Break. 5th day: Lecce – Ostuni – Locorotondo - Alberobello
Breakfast. Departure for Ostuni, picturesque all-white village of considerable environmental value enclosed inside medieval walls. Visit and continuation for Locorotondo and Alberobello. Lunch. Walk through the streets into the famous "Trulli". Hotel accomodation. Dinner and overnight stay.
6th day: Alberobello – Castellana – Vasto
Breakfast. Departure to visit Castellana caves, the most magnificent speleological complex in Italy with splendid stalactite and stalagmite concretions. Lunch. Continuation to Vasto. Hotel accommodation: dinner and overnight stay.
7th day: Vasto – Loreto – place of return
Breakfast. Departure for Loreto. Free visit of Basilica and lunch in a typical restaurant. Continuation for the return.
